Hi, I'm Laura.

It didn't start with jewelry. It started with exhaustion.

I spent years in a corporate job that was slowly hollowing me out. Working in a creative industry but not in a "creative" role, I had convinced myself I wasn't creative, even as I poured every free moment into making things, writing things, building things just to feel alive.

Then, the breaking point. A high-pressure role with impossible expectations. A powerful bully who seemed determined to make me small. A mediocre review that made me question everything I thought I knew about myself.

Why was I grinding it out in a place where I felt neither valued nor seen?

So I quit.

And I mean, I quit the career.

I enrolled in a coaching certification program, determined to understand what was holding me back and to help other women step into their own power. That work cracked something open in me. Coaching was richly rewarding, and for the first time in years, I felt like I was doing something that mattered.

But something was still missing. I was still craving creative expression in a way I couldn't quite articulate.

Running my own business gave me the freedom to explore, so I signed up for a metalsmithing class. Just for fun. Just as a hobby. No pressure, no plan.

And then one afternoon, sitting quietly in meditation with a crystal resting in my hand, I had an epiphany.

I felt the energy of that stone moving through me, grounding me, and I thought: What if you didn't just hold this? What if you wore it?

That question became Arete Adorned.

Every piece I make starts there, with intention, with the metaphysical properties of the stones and metals, and with a deep belief that the most powerful thing you can wear is a reminder of who you truly are. Each piece is handcrafted and energetically infused to align you with your highest self. Entirely unique. Just like you.

We limit the use of plastic in the studio as much as possible and are committed to re-using and recycling all plastics. Our packaging is at least 50% recycled materials and we're working towards 100%.
